Mount Uhud (Jabal Uhud) is one of the most sacred and historically significant sites in Medina. It is where the famous Battle of Uhud took place between the Muslims of Medina and the Quraysh of Mecca in the third year after Hijrah (625 CE).

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said about this mountain:

“Uhud is a mountain that loves us, and we love it.”

[Sahih al-Bukhari]

This hadith highlights the spiritual connection between the believers and Mount Uhud—a mountain that witnessed sacrifice, courage, and deep love for Islam.

🌌 A Place of Revelation
⚔️ The Battle of Uhud
The Battle of Uhud was the second major battle in Islamic history. Initially, the Muslims were winning, but a strategic mistake by some archers led to a shift in the outcome. Though the Muslims faced losses, including the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Hamzah ibn Abdul Muttalib (the Prophet’s beloved uncle), it was a battle full of lessons in obedience, faith, and perseverance.
