The Sacred Gathering After Arafat
The spiritual station of submission, reflection, and preparation. It bridges the awe of Arafat and the sacrifice of Mina, where the soul rests briefly between divine encounter and divine obedience.
A vast, open plain between Arafat and Mina, about 9 km from Arafat and 6 km from Mina. Known in the Qur’an as "Al-Mash‘ar Al-Haram" (The Sacred Monument).
It is where pilgrims rest overnight after standing in Arafat, fulfilling a mandatory rite of Hajj.
Qur’anic Reference:
“But when you depart from Arafat, remember Allah at Al-Mash‘ar Al-Haram. And remember Him as He has guided you, for indeed, you were before that among those astray.”
— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:198
